How early will out DJ arrive to set up?

Your DJ will arrive approximately two hours prior to the scheduled start time of your event unless other arrangements have been made. It typically takes about an hour to set up so this allows us to be set up before guests arrive.

Can we pick what music to play?

Yes you can pick what music to play.  We have our online music request system for you to request songs in advance or you can add them to our planning form.

Will our DJ take guest requests?

Absolutely!  We’ll work with you prior to your event to determine the specific styles and individual requests that you’d like played. We’ll also encourage your guests to make requests (if you approve) to make sure we play the songs that you and your guests want to dance to.

How do you handle overtime?

If you are having fun and want our staff to play longer, we would love to continue our performance.  You can purchase additional time by paying overtime at the beginning of the additional time.  All overtime is purchased on a half-hour basis and the cost for overtime is outlined in your contract.  Overtime must be payed via cash or check prior to the DJ continuing their performance.

Do you provide a written contract?

It is extremely important to have your booking confirmed in writing.  Select Entertainment will provide you with a written contract outlining the terms of your service. It is important to have a contract to guarantee your DJ services. I would never suggest booking any DJ service without a written contract.

Can you provide wireless microphones for any speeches, toasts and other needs?

Yes we provide a wireless microphone to be used for all toasts and speeches at the reception.  We also carry one wired microphone as a back up.

Do you have back ups for your equipment?

Select Entertainment has the latest in Mobile Wedding DJ equipment.  Our equipment is extremely reliable.  I think it is important to plan in case equipment does go out.  We do have a full back up plan for each piece of equipment in case something does go wrong so we can play your wedding without fail. That includes a backup music library that will contain all of your special songs and wedding favorites.

How far in advance do we need to book your Portland Wedding DJ services?

Wedding DJs are typically booked as much as a year ahead of time.  I would try to book your DJ as early as possible.  Some last minute bookings may be available as much as a few weeks ahead of time.  It all depends on the dates.  Typically, our busiest season for wedding run April - October.
